Research Interests
My research interest is in the production and development of non-standard positron emitting radionuclides for Positron Emission Tomography (PET). These isotopes include 64Cu, 86Y, 89Zr, and 94mTc. These isotopes are produced with our small biomedical cyclotron by nuclear reactions on solid targets. One area of my research is to optimize production and separation of these isotopes in order to gain pure radionuclides which can be used to label molecules of interest for cancer applications.

Of particular interest is 89Zr (t1/2 = 3.27d). By conjugating this isotope to antibodies, biological information about tumors can be gained in a non-invasive manner.
